He's from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where there are two periods of heavy rain or monsoon yearly between 'dry' seasons which aren't totally without rain though. An average day would mean temperature in the 30s (that's Celsius) so fishes are kept in outdoor ponds all year round.

so the water is frozen solid in the winter? if not gator gar may live in there, they just not gonna eat(much) during the cold season!
and I wonder how can you say water temperature under 0 C degree! it should be ice!

Exactly. When severe winter freezes the pond. It is pure ice. For us it is winter in minus degrees Celsius values​​.
