To all ray owners/experts

The ray is only 6" at the disc, the 20 will fine for a month

It's not foot print its more the volume of water... Since rays produce a large amount of waste 20 gallons is a really bad idea.... A rubber made tub in the 50 gallon range is better..

My question would be, how long would u be able to keep 2 Motoros in a 55 before I am forced to move them into a 72x1.5x20? And how long could I keep them in there

you could start your own thread for this question

you couldn't keep 2 in a 55 at all

you could only keep 2 in your 'bigger' tank for less than a year if its 18" wide

you can't keep fw rays in CA

Ok i have a 300 gal 72"x36"x27" y do i need to buy a 75gal just to quarantine a 6" ray........????

so you don't kill it with all the nitrates that will build up. Unless you're planning on changing most of the water every day it's in there.

I don't wanna be a smart ass but can that be possible if i do water change everyday or will it stress the ray out to much???? Maybe i just move my festae out my 55 n quarantine the ray in there then just move the festae back after i move the ray to my 300....

That sounds much better. 55 gallons. I would still do wc's 2x/week. The disk is only 6"s, but believe me at that size they produce LOTS & LOTS of waste. good luck.

If you do the same change every day, no, it's not going to stress the ray.

I'm not sure why you even asked about the size of the Q tank given you don't seem to want to hear the answer you've been given several times.
