I'm with Seth, very convenient home for aquatic turtles, more footprint, less depth than the usual rubbermaid totes.

I wish these were around when I first got my Stinkpot. You could make one side nice and shallow by stacking some flat rocks and have it gradually slope down to deeper water. It would work great but my only question is how much is it going to bow with water in it?

Oh yes, all plastic storage bins will bow, some more then others. Some bow at different water level but all seem to be fine until about halfway. Never use the totes with "feet" I learned that the hardway. The water weight collapse and break the feet and the water leaks out :(

My last tub bowed pretty good! :D

I have my RES in one, filled a little bit more than halfway with water.
It bows a little, but its nothing to be worried about.

For the bowing could you make some sort of center brace maybe???

Dde look out with that, I could see your Moose tipping it or otherwise making a big mess. Is he one to crap in the water pan? I know some are, some aren't.

moose loves tippin the water dish and thats really the only place he lays pipe. im just going to use a sump pump with a garden hose to pump the water out, then clean and put the water back in.
Moose broke his last one cause it was to deep for him. he is absolutely lovin this one though.

I'm using the standard 40G tote now, it bows a lot but no cracking/leaking (yet). I may actually head to wally and grab one of those, though if this pond plan gets off the ground my turts will be outside in the Florida sun soon anyway.

Well that makes cleaning the carpet easier anyway :D

Glad he's digging it, good call on the sump pump, no fun dragging it out full and splashing poop soup all over...luckily none of my snakes were water crappers, but my Dumeril's monitor and one of my iguanas did it every time.
