wonder if its a setup, y would a lfs have a asian aro at their store on display infact

Im with rallysman on that it looks like a jardini, but it is still small an its hard to tell.

Banned? NO. Restricted, yes. Still would be able to get one if you apply for the proper permits. People don't want to take the time to apply for it because the processing takes about 90 days, whereas, you could get it in an instant without having to pay the $100 application fee. Asian Aros are obtainable, Fish and Wildlife even request that you provide the place who would import this fish. As far as being approve is another story.

I saw that picture on Aquabid, that is not a fish I would buy, especially in Aquabid, where it is so easy to be deceitful. I do know a few people here in Southern California that has a good supply of the asian aro, and he could get a good quality, I just need to know for myself how to be able to tell what is a good quality, and this is the best place to get the information. If you know where to get some Asian Aros, it would be Aquabid, but if you want to be safe, get it from a very reputable seller...YES here in the US.

USA ROCKS !!!

What should I look for?

The size is around 4 to 6 inches. It is labeled as Red Tail Gold. What quality and signs should I be looking for? I am looking for a nice gold edges and maybe a not very gold shade on the scales, but I think this quality shows at a later age. I wanted to get the best for the price. I know some are glorified by some kind of food enhancer, so i wanted to avoid that kind. Is there something on the fins that I need to know? What do you think about the one on the picture shown?
this fellow is still young to identify as RTG...
usually based of the cert no, the shop should have a scanner to read the fish tag from the aro....
specially nowadays a lot of color enhence pellet which the shop feed green or 1.5 red to become more red. so becareful....
