i think most people have problems with blood parrots because they are often so deformed they cant eat right, swim properly and even close their mouths. there used to be a lot of them that were dyed which is yet another cruel event in the life of the blood parrot after their deformaties.
some people are just extremely passionate about nature doing it right with so many beautiful varieties without humans going in and creating frankenfish. some cannot word there passion properly so it ends up sounding harsh or outright nasty.

your comment on snakeheads and P's being redneck fish is far from accurate. like the others have said its mostly silly teenagers wanting a killer fish to show off to their friends with. until they realise that they arent the blood thirsty killers the movies depict.
i see your point but please use paragraphs because your writing is a nightmare to read ;):p

i think i did go a bit over board on the redneck thing but they are great fish to keep if you like them and care for them properly but in the most Mr. pizza face/general youth's have no desire to LOVE they're fish other than lol at the roadkill he chucked in and show off to his mate's then dare each other to stick your finger in.
To be honest no one has offended me to meke this rant (yet:ROFL:)but i have seen numerous threads made with a noob and he says "look at my bichir" then gets flamed cos he has a dragon goby he never came back to this site since and i just feel that a lot of us are harsh on the pacu in a 30gal guy but no one actually says anything helpful they just flame after flame and dont tell them to take it back or upgrade apart from the usual saint/mod.
but i can see alot of people's point's sometimes you just cant help but wish you could kick the pacu guy in the nut's yet again i just extreme expressed irony in the fact that i just flamed all the flamer's by making this thread but still i had to get the point across HELP FOLK, DONT FLAME FOLK'S

I'm new to this forum and one thing i have read was that this forum was originally designed to help those in need of help and to inform and discuss everyone's experience's. Yet there's lot's of enthusiast's that frown upon blood parrot's when i and alot of beginner's do find them to be ok for what they are and if so who care's i like them you dont and most people are new to the hobby and dont understand that they are inbred but they like them. i think piranha and snakehead's are pointless but i dont freak out in threads and that they are a redneck's fish.

yet again my opinion so dont go flamin and take someone's feeling's into consideration maybe someone has a 3" oscar in a 30 gallon thats fine for about 3 months but maybe he cant afford to upgrade then give him options and advice like try build a tank heres a link with info or you can keep him for 4 months and then hand him back but please do not just go "mother ****er you a**wipe" instead offer advice and treat this forum with respect and remember you may not be right.

so just say "this worked for me and if you want try it". all those true MFK'ers have made mistake's and dont deny youve probably overstocked or forgot to add conditioner to new water and killed your fish so help those so they dont make that mistake and tell them options to resolve problems, Yours truly - Andrew a MFK'er in training...
i have been on this forum for sometime now i have never read a thread in which someone has used such vocabulary for any member. there has always been good advice on this forum but when you ask something then its your duty to listen to the right advice and not ignore them. some people do come up with funny answers but you cant do anything about it.

you are talking about blood parrots mate, post a pic of your goldfish and see how many feeder comments pop up. ;)

the threads you see with continuing anger towards the individual will most likely be when the individual has asked a similar question before on numerous occasions but refused to listen until they get the answer they want.
sometimes they never get that answer but continue to probe the community with the same question worded in a different way or with different fish.
the majority here have every desire to help a new keeper or a new member but its when they devote their time, sometimes very precious time, to answering that members thread and they are ignored that they get very angry and vent their feelings to that individual.

Ranting about members not appreciating the types of fish another member keeps is OK. Flaming those who flamed you is not. The name-calling from either direction is not cool. If anyone has a problem, they can use a new and seldom correctly-used feature called the 'Report Post' button.
