People go to jail for wanting a nice fish in their tank. they spend thousands of dollars keeping the fish and their treated like criminals. while the rest of the world gets to enjoy Asian Aros. Did banning them in the U.S. help the species?.......no......because the rest of the world still gets them. Just dosent make any sense to me.

Hehehe since you are almost set on SR then a trip down to Singapore or Indonesia is in order then ^^ see the brooders i guess.
Good luck with your hunt. Plat silver? nah. stick with SR mmmm SR in a black tank ... and get a fancy pleco to match SR's color (i tried - failed miserably with a pleco)

lol a skarlet plec feed some ridiculous colour enhancers or maybe jus get a spray can out... lol joke!
see if there where plat blacks and it were just going to get de id be on a plat in a second but i hate aros with DE... i cant stand them infact...

Yeah , DE is a specter for your showpiece if you go with plat silver . hmmm plat black? never seen one of these ...

no worries mate! thanks for picking thru this with me! of corse if i get down sgp there will be lots of pics! but it wouldn't be till late this year im very busy first 2 quarters of 2012 at least... agree'd ive never seen or even heard of plat blacks so think sa be given a wide birth for this tank at least...
Myself i am also deciding whether to go gold or red. i have budget only for one fish. gold here appears to be alot more expensive than red. gold also appear to have a larger price range.
for VIP gold the price is like 1300-2070-2750. similarish size xbs. i would imagine 3000 for full helmet =( hmm also saw merlion gold for 750 ...
while the reds (the strains mentioned before) around 1600.
<sob sob> what to do. I have seen the XBs in person, they are all super shiny but the most expensive ones are 'deeper' gold ... honestly i can't quite tell but still ... now that i know (or told)....
damn ... what to do. having said that i have time, still have not got the tank and all that. Still thinking were to put and what max dimension i can get into my condo ... i recon for size 6.5x3 (2.5 high) should be plenty sufficient (with sump at the bottom).
PS: also was fascinated by marine tank ...mmm lion fish. surprisingly not all that expensive as i imagined still....
