me and my mom didnt really do any research before we got 2 oscars 3 jds and a convict a few day ago so they are still babys but we put em all in a 55 gal tank... if i set up 2 more 55 gal that iv had in my basement would that be good for them? this is the setup im thinking about would it be okay?

1st 55 gal tank:
1 jd
1 oscar
2nd 55 gal tank:
1 jd
1 oscar
3rd 55 gal tank:
1 convict
1 jd

PS: im only 17 so i have to work with what i have. any advise would be welcome tho. thank you!

Welcome to MFK. Nice to see some else younger on here. Why not return the fish? The issue of keeping Oscars and JD's in the same tank comes down to bio load as well as aggression issues.

An option if you want to keep some of the fish would be to sell the three 55's and get a larger tank to keep a pair of Oscars in as well as whatever interests you.

55gals are no good for Oscars. A single Oscar could go into a 75......and that should be the minimal size tank.. Return them if this isn't doable.

Welcome to MFK!

thanks for the help guys. I love the little Oscars but I want them to be healthy so I will take them back if I cant get a bigger tank. should I be okay with the three 55 gal for just the JDs and Convict?
