I should be getting a male motoro very soon if the bloke tells me the size ,
and then i will get my female ray off line aswell,
im getting a new 5ft by 2ft by 2ft very soon aswell june i hope ill have it and getting some more cichla aswell,
the when the rays get around a 15"-18" disc i will look for a 5tf by 30" by 2ft for them , and will try to breed them ,
I went and looked at a house to day very large garage and its all mine except a little space for the fishing tackle lol . so i recon i will have 2 tanks set up and mabey a 2ft in my room :D lol

so im getting a 5ft by 2ft by 2ft , stand , light , heaters and fillter , then when the stingrays get bigger ill get them a 5ft by 30" by 2ft so 30" wide should do them for a cupple of years then when they get to big ill sell them both for £220 as what i am paying for them, they should sell fats but i recon i have 5 years with them :D and will get a pair again after they get to big so on so on.......

so how dose it sound?

oh and the cichla willl be in the 5ft by 2ft by 2ft for a long time aswell (not for life till they hit 22"-24" then upgrade.)
if i can get a pair of cichla i will keep them if not im going to spend a lot on cichla till i get one .

cheers
josh.

Hi Josh,
from what you have already said perhaps you need to do a lot more research not to mention try keeping something a little less demanding than freshwater rays, something that should for a start be comfortable in a 5 foot tank!!

ur gonna need some monster filtration with chicla and rays in that tank at least two fx5 and a sump i would say and water changes about twice to 3 times a week once the rays get bigger

just be aware that your bio load is only going to increase as they get bigger. If you focus on your bio filtration to address this issue you will not have a problem, other than tank size constraints which will come in due time.

So my 2 cents, do some more research on filtration as it is essential to keep rays.
Other than that, yea there awsome little critters.

Honestly mate, please listen to my advice in the other thread. Rays are hard work and not just a case of throwing them in a tank with a filter. Start with something small and work your way up, i don't see the point in owning a fish that you know is going to outgrow the tank anyway...

If you're going to do this, please for the sake of the fish get doing some research now, and don't skimp on any of the required equipment, just because it "should be" ok.

yes ive got a 205 and a 404 fulva fillter on the one tank and will be adding more on the tank(s) before i get my diffrent tank when the pbass get a little bigger (arround 10"-14" long) for them (im thinking to monocs ive talked to ross about this i think you no ross? off OBE ? or fishhouse as he is called) he says its fine ,as they dont swim that much compeard to other pbass, and the cupple of gibbys i have so that tank will have a Fx5 on it and a large power head in side and the ray tank before i get the cichla tank i will get a Fx5 before the tank and i am resurching as much as i can ive found some good stuff on them ive keep rays before but not the big ones the tea cup ray, so ill go from what ino and what ive read and see how it gose.
