What kind of driftwood? That's why I love being by the bayou, cypress baby! I have 2 smaller tanks w/ some malaysian and I do t like the leaching at all. IK its not harmful, but its ugly.

i have cypress, and thats the one leaching the most. also have african hardwood
 
i have
1- 7" leo stingray
1- 6" tig
4- 4" indo dats
1- 4" jardini aro

the reason i'm using so much carbon is that my driftwoods still leaching. this cleared up within an hour with this meathod. the second fx5 has nothing but

The driftwood Tanins is what you want. For your system you would NOT use any carbon. This isnt about the look its about the natural water conditions your fish are used too.
