To much filtration?

id say as long as they dont look stressed, youre fine with over doing it.. i believe the key with HOBs are 10-12x turnover rate, and 4-6x ideal with canisters? so i think thats pretty well in the ballpark

Wow, sorry, but there are so many things wrong here.

First off, the fish is illegal to keep. Its not whether its moral, cool, or whatever...it's illegal.

Second, you have a fish that will get really big pretty quickly. You're looking at a 2-3' fish in a 55 gallon tank. What did you do with the stock you already had in that tank? (referring to your stock lists in your signature)

Third, taking a fish from the wild happens of course, but you're not doing the fish a favor when you do so.

I don't mean to come down on you, but, I think you got your hands full with several problems at the moment. Filtration is the least of your worries.

Good luck to you...

I have a turtle tank (read MESSY) and a S/A tank that has some messy critters in it. You can NEVER over filter. haha I'm in the process of creating a huge filter for my turtle and even when it's done I'm sure I'll want more.

Man, I wouldn't keep an illegal fish and post about it on one of the first fish forums to show up when you do a google search. I hope no one comes nocking on your door bro.
