To Much Nitrogen or to high Ph?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hello Dowheart,

do not be fooled that all the people here have never killed a fish..... it is great that you are taking the time to learn, and we all learned at one point or another..... Go slow, do not over stock your tank and enjoy the awesomeness of a fish tank, read how to and relax it will to come to you as it has come to others on this forum

that being said- for those of you that tell people to go away and learn shame on you- they are here to learn, take the time to share and teach, keep in mind that this forum did not just fall into these peoples lap.... they were searching for help.... give a hand, not a verbal bashing

Hear Hear! I'm still new too and every time I see what I call a "scary comment" it makes me fear asking for help. Sometimes we just don't know how to phrase things or what information to give all the "fish-wise" members. Big mistakes can and will happen early on and whether it's the wrong substrate, the wrong tank-size, or the wrong Ph, all the newbies deserve a wiser hand to hold, not a dismissive wave of the hand or earful of thorns. Good luck with your tank and have fun on the journey, fellow newbie :)

thank goodness for the internet, and the collective experiences that you get now. I can now do homework and know what I am getting into long before I actually put my hands onto my tank. Also, I find out which are the more forgiving fish, that way when I do something wrong, they have a chance of living.

Also, I never test my water, but I do changes religiously, under stock, and over filter.

I am having fun learning about fish keeping, and still sad that I killed fish. That said I keep looking for more info to read, books and articles on the internet about fishkeeping. I'm trying to learn more about filtration have ordered a couple of books and keep looking for more info on the internet. There seems to be so many typs of filtration, Which one is better in one situation or another seems to have as many answers as there are opinions in the world. HeHeHe any one have an article or book suggestions about Filtraion
