lets hear how ridiculously priced some lfs have there fish, and how long they have been there, and some of us idiots that have payed tooooo much.

example 1: there is a little baby moto ray @ this lfs that they are asking 200$ for its in a 10g tank and slowly losing its slime coat, been there for around 6 months.

example 2: my g/f had to have these florda spotteds (witch we hadnt seen any of) and we payed 400$ @ 10" or so

Was it labeled as indo or were they trying to pass it off as something else?.....There is a store here that seems to overcharge on all of their fish so it's a good thing I am not really into what they carry.

I go to a LFS that has an awesome selection of supplies and equipment for a reasonable price but their fish are way over priced. They have a huge clown knife for $400 or $500 and a couple of TSN that are $100+.

One of the lfs in my area has most of their "larger" fish way overpriced. A few months ago they were selling a ~9" green sev. for around $70.

Your LFS does not over charge, you over pay.

Your LFS is like your teeth, ignore them and they'll go away.

one of my local lfs takes trades and sets the retail price at double the price that they pay the trader. that's a 100% markup. for example, they would give me $50 in store credit, for a 12-inch silver arowana and sell it for $100. the bigger the fish, the more they sell it for.
