I don't know man, how am i going to quarantine 25 demasoni cichlids? They're very agressive so I cant pack them in a 10 G tank, etc.

Then get a bigger quarantine tank! If you knew what you were doing you wouldn't be adding 25 fish to a tank at once anyways.

i dont quarentine my fish, and have only had a problem once.

however it was an expensive lesson, i introduced a sick clown knife to my stingray tank. wound up losing a c.intermedius, 2 rays, ghost knife, parrot, and a few others. the ONLY fish to survive was the damn sick CK thats now almost 12" :irked::irked:

i always quarantine everything including plants for atleast 2 weeks usuially longer

hmm thats unusual, i rarely ever quarantine my fish and i havent had any problems (knock on wood!)

I have been in the same boat. I have a mbuna tank and usually add about 10 fish at a time, you have to with the aggression. I just don't see how to quarantine without aggression related casualties. I did get a small break out of ich but it's a risk I feel I had to take. All of my fish survived and are very healthy to this day.

I'm stocking a 180 g african cichlid tank, Demasonis have to be added in large groups because of their agressive nature.

I can't dump the demasoni in the 180 before everyone else either because they will be the most agressive and should be added last if anything.

Hi there.. Always always qt... Lesson learned by many...
Just a thought.. A lot of us use things other than glass aquariums as qt tanks.. and keep them in other rooms. I use a food safe plastic bin with a lid. Mine holds about 20 gallons but you can get them in all sizes. I then of course add heater and a cycled sponge filter. I use a floor lamp or a clip on light for a light and it works great. I also add a piece of dw or some moss so the fish feel secure. In your situation you could add some rock piles like you would use in your tank..Just be sure the plastic is rated food safe. the bigger Qtank statement is dead on.. rubbermaid tubs are great for this.. they are big.. they hold water and they are cheap...

as for adding 25 fish at once... if your tank is cycled and the fish are small it can be done without issue..
