To reseal or not to reseal...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if the silicone is lifting, i would reseal.

A reseal job, cost around 20 bucks and will last 15 years

Just look at the condition of the seals, if they're lifting or if there's pieces missing then I would re-seal...........

I got a 210 from craigslist and I'm planning on resealing it. For the benefit of me and the OP does anyone have a recommendation on what silicone to use? I read that once you reach a certain size you have to use a stronger silicone than GE I.

GE 1 is all i use and for a larger tank just make a larger bead. Use a large spoon or cut a peice of plexiglass as a tool

I appreciate backing up my gut feeling, I will be resealing the clear silicone with black silicone to match my other tanks. The fish room/living room is getting one step closer. Thanks MFK!
