To those with Bully Breeds.

I don't have any pics, but Staffordshire Terriers are very close relatives to the pit. Or are they a type of pit? I have no idea.

American Staffordshire Terriers were bred for looks and the show ring and were bred (for the most part) away from the box - away from fighting. So they eventually became their own breed, whereas APBTs, right up to today, are still bred with fighting in mind and keeping the old traits.

There really are not different types of Pit Bull.. The only Pit is the American Pit Bull Terrier...

I have no clue.. lol The first was two men standing outside of 7/11 (I was walking J) who were arguing whether or not he was a pit bull.. They asked "Is that a pit?" - Uh, no...

The second was someone walking by the yard while J was barking at them, they asked if he was a "Blue Pit Bull"..

Wow, that's sad. i know a pit when i see one cuz i keep my distance. i don't care how many people have nice ones. Got chased by one when i was in my teens. the general dislike of them will probably never end except for when i know the owners

I totally understand.. I used to be terrified of them, well to be honest I used to think American Bullies, Amstaffs and Staffordshire Bull Terriers were pit bulls, but when I was about 9-ish my pup got attacked by TWO bull breeds of some kind and I was traumatized from it. I mean it came down to the owners of both being idiots, letting the dogs out off leash and in a yard with a 4' fence.. But thankfully I started doing some researching and met a few dogs who changed my opinions.

I mean, I seriously hated these dogs, I wanted bans and seeing these dogs put down didn't hurt my feelings a bit.. I feel disgusted with myself now because I felt that way out of ignorance and fear.

hahaha, i don't wish anything bad on them and i've met some that i like and probably would consider taking them on myself...it's just too many irresponsible owners out there that have them. i know it's the owners and not the dogs though. Good luck with your quest for pics

I did! I let a couple of bad experiences blind me (thinking back the dogs were an American Bulldog and an American Bully, not even pits)..
