So I recently acquired a 20 wide tank and moved my Tockay gecko into it so he would have more room. The lid of the tank had a big rectangle cut out of the mesh, I have no idea why, I got it at a thrift store. So I patched it with a kind of screen wires, something I have done before, and apparently did not do a very good job. Sometime in the night the light had fallen though the patch and made a big opening and this morning, no lizard. So, somewhere roaming around me room, is the world's meanest little reptile in the world just wating to bite someone on the toe, (or so my fiance thinks;).) Ideas on somehow finding/catching him?

look in all the corners of the room he escaped from
under beds and any dark places
its not verly likely he got out of the room he was in

Yea unfortunately there are a million places he could hide. Also, my door sucks and has over an inch clearance to with the floor, and there is a gap in the drywall in my closet so he could be living in the walls. What I am doing is leaving he tank open and with a few bugs in it so that maybe if he gets cold/hungry/thirsty he might want to return home on his own. I do not have high hopes though.

i hope you find him/her man..... back in where i used to live, we had three 10"+ tokay geckos roaming freely through our whole property..... somehow, they always come back the same spots in our property as if they're routine... they could've escaped out and gone to the woods near by or something but they've been in our property for years..... weird.... g/L finding him man!

"ive had it with these mother flipin tokeys, in my mother flippin room!!!"
-the dude who made this thread, i imagine.

warm that room up and keep the lights out. more then likely he hasnt left the room. if you keep that room quiet and leave things alone for a day or so he will get comfy and start coming out on your wall. I highly doubt youll randomly loose a toe from him haha. have fun!!!

This is what I did when my Golden Gecko use to escape in my bed room. I would open my closet door all the way until it touched the wall. That made a nice dark place for him to hide behind with just a few inches between the door and the wall. Next I would place a desk lamp on the floor with it shinning against the door. The lamp warmed up the door. I would leave the room for a couple of hours. For some reason my Golden Gecko would come out of hiding and go behind the door. Then I'd just close the closet door and there he'd be. You had to be quick to grab him or you'd have to repeat the whole process all over again.
