This is what I did when my Golden Gecko use to escape in my bed room. I would open my closet door all the way until it touched the wall. That made a nice dark place for him to hide behind with just a few inches between the door and the wall. Next I would place a desk lamp on the floor with it shinning against the door. The lamp warmed up the door. I would leave the room for a couple of hours. For some reason my Golden Gecko would come out of hiding and go behind the door. Then I'd just close the closet door and there he'd be. You had to be quick to grab him or you'd have to repeat the whole process all over again.

That sounds like a good idea to me. No closet door so I will have to try something similar. Thanks.

Tokay's hate going to the ground. Check anything vertical or raised, hanging clothes, behind furniture, anywhere dark and warm. Wouldn't worry too much about the gap at the bottom of your door, wouldn't expect them to get too low to the ground.

After a couple months I caught him. Living behind a large speaker I have in a cubby hole in the wall. Bout three in the morning the damn cat was trying to play with him again. Sucker was pretty hard to catch.

Glad you found him. My cat found my gecko when it got loose too.

I had a FBT escape in Feb of last year and still haven't found him or the carcass.

Yea I am pretty glad we got him back, I think he is a very aesthetic lizard. Immediately got him some crickets to munch on and put a lot of water in the tank. Hes looking better now after a few days, I have to put a blanket on his tank at night though because the cat will not stop terrorizing him. As is if she is saying, "na na i got you put in a cage again and im out here havin a blast."
