Lookn great Hulon. I like that last pic in the first set of pics. And I too noticed the surge of people heading to our favourite cichla area Good to see new comers as well as the OG's still around.

Yup...I for got if it was a male or female though. I cant believe how huge it got though. I am amazed at how much bulkier it looks than the others! It reminds me of J's old ocell.

I do see the love taps. I was thinking about the question you asked and I have only noticed sulking after they have breed and the egg's are all eatin or taking out of the tank by myself. But you may be right they very well could be going through the motion's.

On a side note the only Cichla that would completely not eat was the Female Pinima when breeding time was near. You could tell she was holding because like you described belly still looks full but hasen't eatin.
