Damn!!! Jumbo was the best jag in the world hands down. Sad to see him pass when he was with you for 13 years. That's what you call good fishkeeping. He will be remembered. I am so sorry for the loss. Do you have any fry left to grow out?
he was the fish that made me get into cichlids, very sorry to hear he's gone, but i had no idea he was 13 years old,
don't take this the wrong way mo but out of all the today in the fishroom threads jumbo's where the only ones i had to look at every time
Did you breed him?,i can't remember hearing anything about it if you did
My wife pointed out that I have more photos of him than I do of my kids...or her. I never even thought about that...but the photos I have taken and shared on the net will at least keep the thought of him alive.

Sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. 13 years??!! Longer than some dogs. Most people don't realize how long some fish can live. Any offspring you can celebrate his life through?
I actually bred him once...not too long ago. I kept three small fry for myself and sold the rest. He damn near killed himself back then trying to break down the divider.

I don't think he ever bred Jumbo due to his aggression. But I've been looking at pics of Jumbo since I joined fish forums and he was probably the most inspirational jag I've seen. RIP to a great fish. You did good buddy.
It's funny...the highest compliments paid regarding this fish were the people who have written to me thanking me for sharing his photos. Apparently quite a few have decided to keep Managuense just based on seeing his photos. I've received e-mails literally...from all over the world. Amazing really when you think about it.
Anyway...Thanks again for the sentiment. I did put him down in the freezer. I have to think about having him mounted.
I'm very sorry about your loss. I'm relatively new to this forum but I know how much I like my fish and how much I care about them and I can only try to imagine your sorrow. I hope nobody will throw tomatoes at me ... I cannot say I'm an expert or somethin' ... but morphologically speaking .. I could swear that's a Jack Dempsey. The colour is indeed quite strange ... a morph or somethin' but no Jag shape in my opinion (what about the size ... does it have pseudocanines? ... doesn't resemble a Guapote by no means).
Again ...sorry about your loss... hope u find somethin' else to care about .... somethin' to replace the grief .... Cheers.
