I love this shot. They lined up perfectly. Well worth the time I spent with the camera in front of the tank.

As always! Great pics!

Great shots... Got a question you use a D90 Correct? If so what are you using for lighting and flashes lenses and the whole shabang. I am using a D100 yes I know out of date but it's all I got and can't get Colorful shots and proper true colors of the fish. Everything turns white or blue? Maybe you can give me some pointers and so friendly advice on what I should do?

I was going to buy a D90 today for $1200 but decided not to. Thats a big investment and didn't have the immediate cash. If I did though I would put a down payment for the D300 they had.

These were taken with a D3. All of my cameras are Nikon product. (D3, D300, D200 & D70) I plan on ordering a D700 next month (Ho Ho Ho). There are three flashes on these photos...all SB-800's. It sounds like your problem is a color balance issue. I would suggest setting the camera on manual color balance, taking a shot, checking and adjusting accordingly until you get the correct setting. If the photo is "white" it might be over exposed. Same thing...manual...too white...ratchet down the aperture or bump up the camera shutter speed.

If you are looking for a good D300, B&H Photo on line has some great prices on used bodies. Try and stick with the Nikon lens. Better glass.

Hope this helped.

Any tips on sexing them Mo? I've got a couple I picked up from Harry Tolen last year and they're 8-9" and I can't tell. I'm assuming I have two of both sexes, I just don't know which. I can post photos, but they're pretty crappy. ;)

My color modes are concrete modes. I can't adjust all I can do is the Hue. I tried makeing it a little more red to get rid of the blue and it helped but I had problems with keep the red balance consistant. Maybe because of the lighting in the tank because I have mix of 10K bulbs and 6K. The 6's give a red tint. Well I'll mess with it until I get the right thing and I also use a SB-800 but I only have 1.
