Mo that is one beautiful fish and i have a question for you. I also have a Breidohri and I know i don't have your camera skills but mine looks different than yours. I'm going to leave a pic of mine and want your feedback. mine has a deep purple color 24/7 and never really changes while yours has different shades. Are you using a flash or something? I hope you read this because i thought i had a male but maybe my Rocky is a Rockett? Sorry about the dirty glass, i haven't had time to clean it lately. I'd love your feed back.

I used the three flash units plus a small reflector to illuminate the bottom of the fish. One of the flash units was pointed at the reflector giving it a nice even light.

It would seem that you have Rapps form.. Which in my opinion looks to be a varient difference...

I didn't know there was a varient difference with this fish. If thats the case I just learned something i wasn't aware of. Anyway i didn't mean to high jack your thread Mo. Everytime i see yours i look at mine an scratch my head. lol

Actually...I got mine from Rapps. It's all about the lighting. I use three flash units and a reflector to get enough light so i can shoot at a very high aperture (F22 - F29) to capture detail. If you light the subject from above I guarantee you would see some of the same colors. BTW...your Breidohri is a male. The fish has a limited range in Mexico. While there may be some slight variations, most are similar.

Here's a photo of one of my good friends breidohri.
