Today in the Fishroom~ 4/24/12 Segrest Farms

I'm spending the week taking photos at Segrest Farms in Florida. So far I have photographed over five hundred species of fish...close to two thousand pictures taken in two days...not all that will be processed, but lots of great shots. Three more days of photos to follow. This is an AMAZING place. Every once in a while I get one of those photos that makes it all worth while. Just wanted to share it with y'all.

I have never met a more knowledgeable group of RESPONSIBLE aquarists in all my travels. They are aware of the mislabeling and working to correct that. Straight up...I've been in the hobby for a long time. I have never been more impressed with a group of folks as I have these people. What little you know is wrong is a spec against everything else they are doing right.

Funny...because their 8" "Trimac" for a 30 gallon tank from Lake Malawai has been wrong for years. Figured it would be an easy fix!

That's the main problem. The only thing the general public knows about them is what's on their website...and obviously some of that is wrong. One of the conversations we had was on this particular topic. It's a problem. Part of that problem is that they have a "process" in doing anything with their site. It's not unusual. Owning an advertising agency, I've seen it more than most with businesses. It's no excuse, but it's an issue. I'm going to write a blog when I get back about the visit. I'll say it again....I'm not a newbie or a neophyte...I'm blown away by the level of professionalism here. I'm not hanging my opinion on a mislabeled photo.
