Today in the Fishroom ~ Parachromis managuensis "Gold"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In this case, it's actually bot line bred and naturally occuring. It is a naturally occurring fish in the wild. And as Pyru noted....it's called The King of the Guapote since it is rarely if ever caught....one in a million. That information came from Dr. Paul Loiselle who wrote the definitive article about the Parachromis fish on the Cichlid Room Companion. But it is also line bred since it had to be bred with another gold and that is very unlikely that there were two wold to start the process. The fish came from the Czech Republic to Segrest where they have no doubt spent a lot of time concentrating on the the breeding process.

Very very nice. Hopefully as they grow out a bit, they will be a little more cooperative for the photo shoots. Great pics, glad you are patient and shared them.
