hmmm I've never eaten carp always heard they taste like crap so I never bothered.

crap grown in good water are very tasty, in fact the are the most aquacultured foodfish in the world.

many countries around the world love them.

around the US though they are not considered to be good eating.

Nah, they are good (well at least as good as a sucker is, but not as good as a chub).

They are good up to a certain size. Once bigger they are to fatty and have a muddy taste. Carp under 10-15 pounds is good though.

We were forced to eat them when we were kids....never again. My grandma was the only one that could cook them to where you could stomach the taste. Nice catch though! We used to bow fish for them.....was some good times/bad eats!

I hope you killed it, I bowfish hundered of grass carp, commons, buffalo, and bigheads every summer.

They were stocked in a small retention pond and I do not think they are spawning. Maybe unfirtile ones were stocked. Have never seen any small ones and there seems to be less of the big ones cruising around. I don't know why they were stocked??? But I generally a couple of them a year and they are fun to catch so I'm planning on leaving them. I've also pulled a 7 lb LMB out of there(many 3-5 pounders) and the Crappie population now seems to be growing rapidly so it seems to be doing alright.
