tokay gecko habitat thread

hi all,

fired up, i just cuaght a native tokay gecko in my back porch just now, and he's pretty wicked. i can get some shots tomorrow, but i was hoping anyone would like to share their habitats. just some ideas.

My pair are just in a 20g screen topped tank with a section of branch, a rocklike water dish a couple shells, a land hermit crab, and gravel (1/4-1/2"), they spend most of their time stuck to the glass on each side of the tank.

You could set-up a screened enclosure outside (in the shade) with a few plants and let them live in there. It helps to live were they occur naturually.

mine is in a 10 gallon with screen top, ecoearth substrate, drift wood, water bgowl, plants, rocks.

no, they dont need uvb and tho a heatlamp is reccomended, it isnt needed

oh snap.
there is a crack across the side of the tank.
think thats dangerous for the lttle guy?

If the glass feels smooth to the touch it should be fine.
Wild caught, Bangkok is very warm so it won't need a heater.

is it strange that its NEVER on the side of the glass?
its always in the substrate.

ok here is a better shot.
he still is never on the glass.
is it possible that the humididty in the tank is high enough that it cant grip the glass?
