Tokay Gecko - screen habitat in dry environment?

I want to set up a Tokay Gecko habitat. I got a giftcard for Petco, and, looking online, it looks like they pretty much just have screen habitats. I live in Colorado, where the humidity is quite low, and the temp. in the house in the winter is ranging from 66 to 70 degrees. Can I keep the humidity and temp. high enough for a Tokay in a screen enclosure?

tough call. which brand of screen is it?
since its from petco im guessing its a zoomed reptibreeze. you could try putting aluminum foil on 3 sides of it for less wind and more humidity.

I think it's going to become way too dry without something to help hold the humidity in. You could always add some pieces of plexiglass to the top and sides and mist the cage twice a day. Live plants will also help hold in humidity.

Thanks for the input guys. It just gets so dry in my house; I'd rather get the right kind of habitat (glass/acrylic) instead of getting a screen one and having to put my own sides on it. I'll probably just get glass/acrylic and use the giftcard for other accessories...

My room is always humid because I have two large, open top turtle tanks in there, but my Tokay enclosure still gets too dry, even though it is an exoterra with glass over half the mesh lid.

I certainly wouldn't want to try and get the humidity right in a mesh enclosure.

They are really cool animals though! Possibly my favourite lizards
