I had a pair of those for about 3 months. It was all I could handle. They made it too difficult to clean the cage, and I couldn't handle them without gloves. I mean, you could handle them without gloves, but they will clearly bite you and draw blood every time (razor sharp teeth). Very beautiful, but nasty little bastads. I think they would make a barking noise every time I picked them up as well.

I like your setup!! Very natural and green. :)

excellent set update and a healthy looking gecko. Good job.

Quick update on the Tokays. They are doing really well and feeding well too. The male is coming out a lot in the day now which is nice. I took advantage and took some photos so you can see how nice his colours are.

The only Gecko I like! Beautifull!

I find tokays very missunderstood, first of all you will have a really hard time to find ANY reptile that likes to be picked up, you will find plenty of reptiles that like to interact with humans, many ig, tegus and even monitors enjoy a good gentle cuddle, and most lizards and turts at least to some degree are fascinated by the daily endeavors their fellow humans take (and the food they bring with them ;) ), but picked up, tolerated many times, yes, liked no. Tokays are just the same, except they have the gutts to face us "I dont like that, period", its all about trust. Yours are clearly beginning to trust you and that is one of the first signs, going active during the day, now dont give them reasons not to trust you. If you wait for them to come to you they will!

I love tokays! I used to keep a few running loose in my bar and my animal facility. They kept the loose crickets and wild spiders in check, plus they made some great noises at night. There was also the added bonus of excitement. When you went into a room and turned on the light they would sometimes be sitting on the wall near the switch and they would burp at you and bolt for the nearest hidey hole. Awesome and a bit scary sometimes.
