Tons of neon tetra, or another school of small fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I underestimated the rummy nose tetra. A large school with live plants looks amazing! Same goes for roseline barbs!

Roselines are beautiful but they get to be almost 5 inches from what I''ve seen (maybe bigger?) Rummy nose tetra are definitely cool as well. Hatchetfish, bloodfins, cardinals/neons, etc. All great choices! Will you be planting the tank?

I think its a good idea. But if if you have the money I'd totally go with cardinal tetras. I never had the time for them :(

my favorites tanks are stocked with lots of small fish. If you want something that is a really exceptional schooler but petite, check out Brevibora dorsiocellata- best schooler I have ever seen. Light yellow/grey body, black dorsal, and bright blue lampeye.

I am in love with Glo-lights... I would do a nice school of a small fish.. 20-30... then some corys or kuhli loaches for the bottom, or even one of the smaller peaceful species of spiney eels.. and maybe a pair of blue rams.. or other "center-peice" type fish. maybe some fancy guppies or something similar to balance the top. I am a big fan of planted tanks in general but I like to have a "balanced" tank... even my "big fish" tanks have semetry to their stock.

If you want something more "crazy" imo you can't go wrong with what Rachel gets in... she has some very sweet nano's. If I ever pull the trigger on converting one of our 75+ into a planted tank i'll be putting in an order with her.
