My LFS is having a $1 per gallon tank sale and I am going to get a new tank. However maximum length is 36" as I have run out of room in my apartment. Once I move, hopefully next year sometime, it will be a different story (90 gallon here we come
)
My stocking list is one small bluegill sunfish who is just growing out, two tiny bluegill sunfish who are growing out as well, 10 small minnows, a male Odessa Barb, a male Checker Barb and a 2" female crayfish.
My tank choices are:
29 gallon (30 x 12 x 18)
30 gallon (36 x 13 x 16)
37 gallon (30 x 12 x 22)
38 gallon High (36 x 13 x 20)
40 gallon Breeder (36 x 18 x 16)
56 gallon High (30 x 18 x 24)
My only concern with the 40 Breeder and the 56 High is that since my fish are small and the tank is so deep, will be I be able to see them all the time? But then again, the water is clear and the tank will have lights on it... I don't know. Never had a deeper tank before.
The aquascaping will be river drift wood and creek sand/rocks. A friend is building a 38l x 20w x 30h stand for me, which would accommodate any of the above tanks.
What do you think is the best tank?
