I wouldn't bury the java fern in the sand... not good for the roots.


but other than that, no not too much at all.
 
yeah i think it looks good man. its only too much if you think it looks like too much

How would I attach the fern? I zip-tied the anubias to the driftwood and I buried the swords. How do put the ferns on the sand?

I used to just tie the roots to a rock or a weight and let it sit on top of the sand. The roots would do their own thing. You don't want to bury the rhizome on ferns and anubias.

I had mine wedged into a rock pile until they attached to the rock, or tied directly to the driftwood. I wouldn't have them directly on the sand, personal preference - not that it matters, as long as you don't cover the roots.
