Too Much Algea

Filter media can definitely have minor die off when even swapping over tanks quickly.

I would do at least 20% wc twice a week and feed every other day to see if it clears up. I always get algae flare ups in the early stages of tanks. But normally it’s becasue my no3 is high. 5ppm is super low. So you must be doing big wc already. I can’t keep my tanks that low unless I skip time on my test instructions haha, or do like 50% changes ever 2-3 days

I do 50% once a week on all of my tanks. I have a 55g that's been set up since Oct. And a 29g quarantine tank. The readings run the same. There is so much ammonia in the tap water right now I have to use 2 caps of Prime per 5g bucket.

Algae in my 75g tank is getting out of control. I just took all my rocks out to clean. (It's an all rock tank). I've cleaned the walls and floor of the tank. I have African cichlids in it. I'm also go in to do a 50% water change. The water is cloudy white. Is there anything else that I can do?
Cloudy white days bacterial bloom not algae to me

Yeah my 55g had bacterial bloom for about a week or 2 after I set it up.

Is my nitrate being that low a bad thing?
No not at all. Nitrates just don’t get outbifbthebtank unless you donwatwr changes. But you do a lot so hats why it’s low. It’s the end product of nitrites which is he end product of ammonia. Just make sure you’re following the test directions exactly. If using an api liquid test, and don’t shake part 2 for at least 30seconds andbthe. Shake the mixes for 60, (then wait the 5min) the levels will be innccurately low.

Don't shake for 30 seconds? And shake mixture for 60?
Are you testing with api liquid tests? Those are the instructions of that test. I’m not insinuating you don’t know how to test no3. Just worth mentioning because I know several people do it similar to the ammonia test but it’s wrong. That’s the only reason I mentioned it
