good ida to get your bb going while you are setting up the new tank
if their is to much current you can always slide a peace of pvc over the outlet tube pointed to the bottom of the tank

it might be too much current.... you coulf just take one of other canisters and put it on the 240 to cycle the fx 5

yeah i put it on and my bichirs seem to enjoy it haha. my plan is not only to help filter my overstocked 75 gallon but just to cycle the filter media itself in the fx5 by the time the 240 is ready to be setup

I run a FX5 on my 2.5 gallon betta tank....

I just seed a portion of bio-media when I set up a new tank. Then I move the sponge/Matrix to the new filter and add in additional bio-media to fill up the trays. The BB spreads fast. Last two tanks were fully cycled in 5 to 6 days.
