too much for a 30gal?

would this be over stocking a 30gal?
1 green terror
1 JD
2 electric yellow
2 electric blue
1 pleco


should i just have 1 electric blue and yellow? or could i add more?

Probably not because the JD will kill everything but the green terror and pleco. if he didnlt then yeah that would be a bit much. Would just go with the: (JD,Green,Pleco) or (Yellow,Blue,Pleco) you choose

Your tank is not big enough for any of those fish except for the electric yellow. Please tell me it's not a 30 tall!

If you kept them completely alone -- ONE FISH ONLY -- you would still need at least a 55 for any of the other fish you listed.

I am so glad to hear that -- finally someone asks if it's ok BEFORE buying the fish!

Sorry, those fish are too aggressive and too large for a 30 gal. A single GT female or a single JD would be OK in a 55 gal = 48" long, but your tank is only 36" long (assuming that you don't have the 30 tall).

I agree that it's no fun to have only one or two fish, so maybe you will need to expand your horizons (or your tank) when choosing your species.

Otherwise, you can listen to Mike and just put 'em all in there and have a f****in' sick tank for a few weeks until they all kill each other.

The tank is too small for 2 JD they get 10-12" if you want more than 2-3 fish you need to stop looking at cichlids and plecos. Mabey angel, spotted leaf, algea eaters, dwarf gouramis, tetras (not with angels though), barbs, sword tails, could do mollies but hate them.

the tank is an aquatic gardens kit, i think it has a filter like a whisper for a 30g
and an aqua clear 500 for extra filtering.
