they will if they are set right.

I have twin 250w Ebo Jagers in my 150g and the temp is very stable.

but you do have to play around with each individually to get them calibrated the same

otherwise yes, one heater will do all the work and the other will just sit there if they are not set and calibrated correctly.

as far as the topic at hand, using two heaters is great, but generally two smaller heaters are used rather than two large heaters

in this case 2-200w heaters would have been fine.
rather than twin 400w heaters.

yeah my temp is at a constant 78
 
Your fish will be fine up to near 90F. Two things will however begin to happen. 1) Oxygen in the water will decrease and 2) the metabalism of your fish will increase making the low oxygen issue more of an issue. Put the heaters on a timer and only run them at nite for say 12hr.(saves on electricity, added benifit). Make sure your lids dont have alot of gaps to keep the heat in.If the heaters dont regulate like they are supposed to then you may have a faulty heater. I personally like the heaters with external temp control and remote probes...more acurate.
