Sweetness...best of luck!

My attempt at keeping asian aro comm in 8' tank is a complete disaster - so much for my glorious dream =( BB, red and X-back. Currrently, red and X-B+BB are separate on each side of the separator. The red and BB used to follow each other around and nip and lunge each other (damaged fins all the time). X-back was bashed around too but less. Like you, when i turn on the lights then all hell breaks loose, but after awhile it settles down THEN when i turn off the lights the fighting really starts in earnest - then subsides after awhile. Adding a green aro into the mix did not help at all =(

The same thing happes with BB and X-back but on lesser scale. Red is by himself with all his glorious finnage intact. Currently, cycling 6' for ether x-back or BB ... have not decided yet ^^ and ordered another 8' for the silvers (in 7' currently) - then the 7' is inherited by the remaining one.

GL with your pair, T1

i had loads of fights but i knew a Asian aro com was never going to be easy

you need to be strong and let the fights take place and don't panic

i even had aros in my com that would not feed everyday if you panic it will never work

i put up with the fights for 2 years its not a nice sight but you need to do it if you want a pair

mine are still fine no fights at all it would have been 1 week on Friday

i had the 1st night a bit of chasing with the lights out so i left a blue light on all night so they could get used to each other

so far so good but i know its still a bit soon to feel happy

pro arow comm guy lol

Since i never had fish fights before (i have a peaceful silvers and jar comm), i completely freaked out when the asian comm started to fight. red and bb in particular (circling, stalking, raming, biting). Lots of torn fins and tails ... i never let it develop into scales loss (what i was afraid of).

the smallest x-back suffered the most, there was damage on the scales. now the bb and x-back are on one side of the tank (x-back is slightly shredded tail and anal fin) while bb is fine (but does not seem to be growing despite eating normally). Red and bb still stare at each other through the divider

BB and x-back do not mind each other as long as the lighting does not change (when change then bb start chasing x-back) .... so it makes viewing my asian aro in the black tank not so enjoyable at all :irked:

Before i lost the HBRTG, black and green comm - HB and black were also fighting (juvi fish fight!!!)

PS: currently, added two DATs into 6' cycling tank in wait for x-back. Will x-back be safe from siemese DATs - still small ones?
