I cna put you in touch with a guy selling a 14" specimen for $50. They're not as uncommon in the hobby as you may thing. Boggy currently has one, and tongue used to have one, but ended up donating it to a zoo.

They are somewhat seasonal, so that is probably why you didn't know they were fairly available.

These guys are [comparatively] tiny. If you're listing natives, go with gars and maybe a musky.

Arapaima gigas, but close.

Biggest knife fish is Electrophorus electricus! (electric eel)

In terms of length, most species of lungfish will surpass the emperors and pbass. Probably weight too.

I think he passed on it.
Either way, a few members here do or did have some.
I believe toehead had one for a while.

I just picked up 2 electric eels at Ocean Blue. They are about 1 1/2 feet. I put them in a 135gal tank so I wouldn't have to move them for a while. I also got rubber gloveds that go above my elbows . By the way how did this post get on E- eels?

Im you were a game fisherman you could come down to the south pacific and catch a Black Marlin. Biggest bony fish in existence. Or you could get the smaller blue marlin which is directly before it.
