TOP 5 FAVOURITE FISH EVER.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My Favorite Fish:

Jardini Arowana - I love my jardini I have at home and I love arowana in general.
Clown Knife - I love my clown knife too, at the moment I am nursing mine back to health.
Arapaima - My 7 year old dream was to keep an arapaima in a pond.
Peacock Bass - I would like to keep one once I have a 225 gallon.
Endlicheri Bichir - Another amazing fish I have at home.

Runners up:
Senegal Bichirs - Among the cutest of the bichir family, these little monsters love to sleep.
Goliath Tigerfish - Predatory, with an amazing reputation for taking chunks out of things, these fish are quite nice. But I don't think they are really appealing to the eyes.
Tiger Shovelnose Catfish - Predatory and to me quite cute (maybe I am weird.), the Tiger Shovelnose Catfish is definitely on the list of the runners up.

Favorite Human(s):

Everyone on monster fish keepers no matter how much I spam, flame, and go crazy, I still love you all! XD

Fish that I've owned
1.Red Wolf Fish aka BLOODY FACE (from american horror story, since he jumps and bloodies his face), I love polys, but they don't interact that much. My red acts like a puffer lol. I love this guy
2. Polypterus Buettokoferri, the patterns on this guy are remarkable
3. Polypterus Ornatipinnis, my first larger growing poly and first fish to get me back in the hobby after a 3 year hiatus
4. Bob the pea puffer, my largest and most interactive out of the group. My 10 is right next to my chair so me and him interact a lot
5. My 2 datnoids, one 3 bar and one 4, they act exactly the same just in different tanks lol. Super interactive

Also have to including my Orino pbass, very interactive and loves me. Really doesn't like my geophagus though lol

Top 5 all around

1. Polypterus sp. Dabola, love the look of dabola
2. Hoplias sp. Iguazu, so insane looking and powerful when large
3. Brevis Tiger Fish, purely for the power and intensity
4. Muskellunge, my favorite local sport fish, grew up catching these
5. Mbu Puffer, if I ever have the spare space I'm totally getting one

This is a very difficult question for me because I really like them all over the 30+ years of keeping fish and there is some that I've not kept that I wanted to over the years. I'm fixing to get a dovii, so they might be added to this list soon enough:

1. Chocolate Cichlid - One of my favorite because of their personality and very easy going attitude in a tank. I have 5 currently and the one in my 75 name angel is my favorite and got his name when he arrived in the mail with less than a 1/4" water and I put him in and he survived and growing fast.
2. Silver Dollar - These are my favorite dithers and not because of just that, but I love the fish because they always school around the tank. I've never had the skittish problem that I hear others have with them, but I usually always have them in my tanks at least somewhere.
3. Tiger Loach - I don't know why with these, but I picked up 5 of them a year or two ago and they just grew on me. I love hearing them click around the tank (when I had my 220) all the time by chasing each other. They give the tank personality and can live with the cichlids I've had because they don't take any crap from anyone. My tiger's that were in my 220 would chase my Giant Red Tail Gourami away all the time when he tried to pick on them lol. I currently have two in my 350 and plan on getting more once I move next month.
4. Trimac - My trimac I had in my 75 was one of my favorite until he passed away and I'm really wanting to get another one.
5. Pearsei/Bocourti - I've had these over the past couple years and they have grown on me. They have a very large appetite and know their owner as soon as they are in the room.

Future?
1. Dovii - Will be getting a pair of these for my 350 next month when I move and look forward to the experience.
2. Argentia - Have always wanted one and really leaning towards a solo male soon.
3. More to come
