If yours looks like this that plastic cover comes out but if its all glass then your going to have to take it back.

That plastic strip in the back is what you trim to put hob and other equipment through
In the second picture you put it on wrong. The first picture is what you need to do but just take the plastic part out and your good.
Got it thnx for the help, now I have to wait for the lights. Any1 know how to hold the lights in place?
No problem thats what this forum is about to gain knowledge and to help others out.
Depending on the lights most lights just sit on top of the glass lid. The others would attach to the sides or some have ceilings lights that beam down.
post some pics of the setup and I'm glad you got the top sorted out.
Here's my setup, I know it's plain but I'm scared that adding a draft wood will damage my jardini.
