I was thinking about suggesting them but they would be risky with his stock.
Needlefish are always cool however once again depends on your other fish.
Giant danio's are awesome and very hardy fast swimmers. Beware of them hording all the food for the tank though they are very agile and fast aggresive feeders

I would not go with needlefish since any sort of stress from nippy tankmateds will probably send it hitting the sides of the tank and injure its "beak"

Fair enough , I should have had a bigger disclaimer about the other fish having to basically leave them alone. They also frighten easily.
