My Red Tail Black Shark (Labio bicolor I think? ) runs my tank! He/She chases Bala sharks around that are 5X its size. It's all bark and no bite but total attitude.
Of course a larger fish would just eat it, but large fish eat small fish all the time. As far as aggressiveness? Hands down my most aggressive fish!

pound for pound....the mosquito fish Gambusia affinis, then I would have to say the Goonch catfish, Alligator gar, Gatf, Aba Aba knife fish and Golden Dorado.

I have a Goonch and it's not aggressive. It's a great feeder and pounds fish that can fit in its mouth but what fish doesn't? I define aggressive as a fish that beats the hell out of fish larger than it's self or just kills for the fun of it like a Snake Head or Aba Aba

Nobody has mentioned the giant gourami. They can be very testy and territorial as all fish can be. I guess it all depends on the individual fish--of any species...
