Top water oddball/monster fish?

gars stay at all levels of the tanks, but tropicals are noticably much more top dwellish.

Generally no they have a smaller wild size and i think a smaller captive size

trops get the smallest of all gars i think.
try an african pike liek what killerfish said.
theyre like atfs that stay smaller.

My African pike didn't stay at the top so not sure if that is standard behaviour or not.

Every Apollo sharks I have had has always stayed at the top, and are nice and active. Not huge monster proportions though.
