This is the best place and quality for the money! I have a RODI unit. It is really nice having a RODI unit. When I change units I am going to order from them. Again this another initial cost of the hobby. It is expensive to set up a salt tank RIGHT the first time. But when u finally get it set up. Life is good and your corals, Fish, etc are going to be really happy!

Good Luck!
Wow...that is a REAL good price. I was just starting to price them and this seems like a steal.

THANKS!! :headbang2

I use RO, but I have a small system.

The thing with rodi water is that it doesn't contain excess nutrients for algae to thrive on. If you use tap water then there is a larger chance that your FO tank will have algae issues. Due to the excess nutrients contained in regular water.

so then does it makes sense to say that I could use regular tap water that has been conditioned and kept moving for 24 hrs....if i don't have hard water then i would really jst be having to deal with a little xtra algae?
I'm jst a newbie go EZ on me:)

We all have to learn. LOL. If you are ok with the nutrient issues then yes you could use prime and then mix the salt with the water. I usually put a air stone in for 24 hours before I do a WC. The air etone e as with a protein skimmer helps with the ph. Because of the gas air exchange it releases co2 which can drive your ph down.

So you're saying leaving the water with an airstone in it for 24 hrs or so would be okay? Because I'm thinking of getting a RO unit, but at the moment I am very short of cash (thanks to my car) and the tank needs topping off.

That should be ok for now. Just treat with prime then let it set with a airstone for 24 hours. ASAP buy a RODI it will help with the future algae problems. Cars breaking "GRRRR"
