agree with spilo. RBPs are cool in their own way but are scardey cats, good to have around if you have a spare tank IMO. the channas are much more dynamic, and if your tank is big enough, possible to mix other fish. not with RBPs though. channa's are no harder to take care of than P's.

i'd prefer the SH.
just like the thrill of having them eye you thru the glass and jump out of the water after food.
reds are cool in their own way.but unless you get a big enough shoal,they can be just a bit boring..
btw which dwarf channa are you looking at?
