I have no interest in keeping piranhas (especially since I live in FL and they're illegal), but I would like to get a tank big enough for peacock bass one day...
if u breed piranhas u need spray bars btw. but for beauty, get a pbass. rbp r kinda ugly unless full grown.

Who ever said that you need spraybars? and what would they be for? When I had mine I have 13 RBPs in a 125 filtered by 2 penguin 350Bs and a FX5. No spray bar and they layed eggs at least 5 times before I got rid of them.
None of the eggs ever made it to fry b/c I didn't care and let them get ate. So you don't need a spraybar. I would like to know why you think you need one to get RBPs to breed.
that would be great! for plants.. I'm all for keeping big fish and plants! you can make a much estetic enviroment if you go for big chunks of driftwood and live plants.. what you need is good lighting and water under 28 degrees C.. (its hard to get plants to thrive in warmer water from my experience) they will tear up the plants but not on purpose and you will not have a problem until the fish reaches say 12"..
if you go with live plants just make sure you have 2-3" of substrate.. you can check out one of my threads named UPDATE OF THE MAIN TANK in the column next to my name "find more threads by" I was really happy with that result and that is what I'm gunning for again..
