The blackberry silver dollars are hybrids.. they don't exist in the wild. The exact cross has been a closely guarded secret . The breeders control the prices.

I did not notice this before,very interesting.
I got a line on some small ones.They are about the size of a nickel.

Ouch, I wouldn't feel comfortable on dropping a couple hundred bucks on some that that small. The risks of something happening to them at that size are too great for me.

My thoughts exactly.I'd have to set up a ten gallon or something and keep all of my fingers crossed.

I got a pair of them around the size of an oreo and in about 3 months later their bodies were a little bigger than a hockey puck. Haven’t really grown since then. They school together most of the time but will also school with my 3 common sd.

That's kind of what I am moving towards,a group of a few different species with the most being red hooks which are my favorites.
There were about ten of the small blackberries and they were chasing each other around the tank.

90 each is a veeerrryyy good price, lowest I've seen is $125 each

But for a nickel size. Wouldn't you agree that the risks of something happening to it at that size is great?
