As long as they are dry and healty cold is not a issue, but making shure they are not outdoors during rain makes part of the chalanges of owning these guys. Box turtles are worse indoors and trive outdoorsYou can use it on weak rain provided that its 100% moist proof but I wouldnt trust even that on heavy rain periods. Also the fact that they arent compatible with moist doesant mean that the next day with the ground all wet they wouldnt try to get around just to get hill later. Why dont you get something like a herman tortoise or a ibera greek wich also have the adicional advantage of being 100% cb? Thouse arent good on heavy rain either but at least they are more adaptable to moist then russians. All require planificacion of the outdoor enclosure so that all water can drain easily.
