I thought clowns could get 36" or more?
Those would be aquarium sizes methinks.

Really? So my clown isn't going to get 3 feet? Only 2? I swear I've seen some bigger than 2 feet on here.

Your CK won't probably get up to even 2 feet. Maybe 18-21 inches as it's a captive breed. Rarely see a CK at more than 21 inches in captivity. Biggest one I've seen was a 26" and it in a large outdoor pond.

Maybe you should worry about where you are gonna house it later, that 37 gallon in your sig isnt big enough.

Really? Well then I'm screwed.

I know that. It is just a baby, it is a grow out tank.
Better to start in a bigger tank than a smaller tank. A 55g would be a nice grow up tank if you wanna maximize the growth.

I actually have a 50 in the garage. We are house hunting at the moment so I'm waiting to set it up in the new place. I don't want to put it up just to take it down right away.

;) Between Notopteridae & Gymnotiformes, there are close to 200 known spicies of what folks commonly call "knifefish" Most you'll probably never find in your LFS but if you're the adventurous explorer type, you may encounter some of the rarer species in your travels. Others may possibly be special ordered or imported.
Not real familiar w/ 'saltwater knife' but I've read that some species venture into brackish water estuaries & lagoons. "T"
