lol I don't know Katie - I would have so much fun if I had to restock all my tanks :D Try something you have never kept before....I'm sure it'll be exciting!

Yeah, it is kind of cool to get to start fresh with everything. I was just pretty frustrated that all of the time/money I put into those fish went down the drain. I am toying with the idea of doing some larger, more aggressive CA's since I've never really kept them before, but an eartheater setup is tempting as well...

Thanks for the great suggestion. I actually just had a 24 inch cube custom made that is going to be a planted tank for discus and a pair of apistos :)

I know ppl are going to get mad at me for posting this in the American cichlid section; but maybe try a large African setup (Frontosa, Blue dolphins, large Haps). It would be a lot different from your other set-ups! :headbang2

Thats a cool idea, but I think I would be sad without my new world cichlids. Africans are really cool, I just don't like keeping them very much.

Well I decided I am going to leave it up to Ken, lol. I just sent him a PM about a $200 box of fish, so I figure it will be a nice surprise to get me started again. I know other members have been really happy with his boxes of fish, so I'm sure I will be as well. Plus, I stink at figuring out stocking and who is compatible with who, so it will be nice to leave it up to someone else :) I'll let you all know what I get!

no suggestion but nice red shoulder in yoru avatar I just got a male and female pair

Yup, he gets to pick the fish, but you get a great deal. Here's the thread:

Cool, i find it nice having a mbuna setup along with my large american cichlids. Goodluck with whatever he sends you. So how do you know how to setup your tank substrate, water and such when you get random fish? j/w

Thanks :) I actually requested Central American cichlids since my tank already has a salvini. My water is hard since I'm in SoCal which is perfect for CA's. I haven't done much with the tank yet... just sand substrate and a few pieces of driftwood. Once I see what fish I have I'll add more as far as aquascaping goes.

Lol, thought about it... but I thought it would be more fun to try something new.
