Touch of Class Reptiles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think people make it more difficult than it needs to be... I use a the KISS method. Keep It Simple Stupid. I've kept in normal tap water (ours is semi hard tap), throw a piece of driftwood, some spagnhum moss, plain bottom or small pea gravel, some duckweed, and a small low wattage light bulb. Nothing fancy, no big filters, no huge elobrate setups, if your house in the 60's or so... I would add a heater, and try to keep it in the mid 70's. I offer them varies water depths from 2" - 1ft depending on the size of the turtle. The more stuff you put into the setup, the more you gonna have to subtract if you come upon a issue. I do use ammo lock as a decholrinator for small turtles, large juvies- adults never had a problem. Feed them, feeder guppies, platies, rosies, etc... I had one that would eat anything... I had others that where picky. I do stick reptomin in the thawed out fishes mouth.... if you want I'll send you photos of the different setups I've used.

Sorry but I'm out of town... so bare with me.
