I touched a hawksbill in the Keys once, but he swam off pretty fast, much to the dismay of the other snorkelers lol. Oh well, the same guy who told me not to touch it was the one who purposely stepped on the coral...
On the same trip, a couple manatees came to a dock out of curiosity. We sprayed them with a hose and they enjoyed playing with the spray in their lips. They swam off eventually, and my dad and sister went out to rent a jetski. Turns out they came across the manatees out there, and my dad hopped off and swam with them. Totally illegal, but no harm done!
